I’ve noticed an unintended consequence of the relentless drive for low cost products. We’re getting so good at cutting the costs out of products that it is frequently cheaper to replace something than to repair it. This is great for the consumer but terrible for the environment.

Irony is Lost on Walmart
For a little family entertainment this weekend, we caught up on another excellent Pixar film, WALL-E. The movie is a nice story about robots (which explains one of the reasons I liked it), but its one of the themes that made me think of this post.
